SALMA in her first concert in Lebanon!
Live at Metro on the 7th and 8th of November 2026
Salma (born Salma Mousfi in Lebanon) is one of the most loved voices in modern Middle Eastern music. Often called the pioneer of Lebanese Bossa Nova, she mixes the rich phrasing of Arabic songwriting with the light, easy rhythms of jazz and Bossa Nova. Her musical journey began in 1986, when the Lebanese composer, playwright, and pianist Ziad Rahbani came across her by chance. She didn't start out as a lead vocalist, but she found her place in his world step by step. Over the years, she became a central voice in his boldest projects, including the plays and musical works "Al Akl Zineh," "Lola Fos-hat El Amal," and "Taba' La Shi Taba' Shi."
In 2001, they released "Monodose," a cult classic album that changed the sound of the region. With songs like "Un Verre Chez Nous" and "Mish Bass Talfinly," it introduced a distinctly Arabic Bossa Nova style that still inspires young musicians today. Rahbani passed away in 2025, leaving a body of work that Salma continues to carry forward.
Alongside her work with Rahbani, Salma made her own path with Salma Nova, her independent album of ten songs, released in 2008.
Now based in Paris, Salma is enjoying a major revival. After successful European shows with Rahbani in 2019, she launched a live show with a full jazz band. It has played sold-out headline dates at Sunset Sunside and New Morning in Paris, and at Habibi Funk Weekender at Hackney Bridge in London.
Coming soon, Salma makes her Amman debut on November 6, 2026 at the newly renovated Al Balad Theatre, opening the space's soft launch with her event. She then returns to Beirut for two nights, November 7 and 8, 2026, at Metro Al Madina, her first concerts in over 35 years. It is a comeback not to be missed.
In 2027, Salma & Friends will take the show to more countries and more stages, promoting her solo work and moving on to bigger international arenas. The show keeps a legendary catalog alive while introducing original material to new audiences.
Salma & Friends
